Series of 5 Quadrille Classes led by Talitha MacKenzie, at L'Institut Français d'Écosse
Fortnightly on Tuesdays, beginning on 14 January 2020, W Parliament Square, Edinburgh EH1 1RF
The Franco-Scottish dances so popular in Edinburgh during the Regency period are enjoying a revival - why not join us in celebrating this?
Although similar to Scottish Country Dance, Quadrilles are danced as four couples in a square so that each set has its own 'community'. Footwork is not overly complicated—the focus is on social interaction. Ballroom dancing has never been so much fun!
Dance your way to fitness without even noticing the effort, while your brain gets its share of exercise remembering the sequence of figures.
All levels welcome, no experience necessary; you may come on your own or with a partner. Comfortable clothing and soft, flexible shoes, with low (or no) heel, recommended.
